I don't care for Rourke, this felt like a miscast, even though I have no notions of what this character was supposed to be. Perhaps it's my tendency to hear higher pitches better than low, but I'm put off by the Hollywood mumble crowd. Stalone, Rourke, Statham at times, frankly I cannot understand their dialog and it's distracting. Throw in a moderately ok Russian accent, and it's a lot of low talking nonsense.

Where the first movie made me feel like "YEAH! %*$# Yeah!", this one felt more like "Yeah! Okay, I see where you're going with that, woo." Mostly because we went from riding on the shoulder of the Iron Man, to watching him and another guy, and then another bigger guy in the same type suit controlling a bunch of drones that look like that guy... Visually, it's too much, and the impact is lessened. Duplication is not always a good thing, and can result in a dullness (witness a certain Matrix sequel).

Sam Rockwell did indeed Rock Well. See what I did there? He's great, that's fo sho.

Like the sequels to Ocean 11, they didn't really have a story, so they packed it full of fireworks and faces and hoped we wouldn't notice. Mostly I didn't, and enjoyed myself. But I doubt I'll watch it again.
